uncategorized Remembering 9/11

I cannot begin this audience without expressing my profound sorrow at the terrorist attacks which yesterday brought death and destruction to America, causing thousands of victims and injuring countless people.

To the president of the United States and to all American citizens I express my heartfelt sorrow. In the face of such unspeakable horror we cannot but be deeply disturbed.

I add my voice to all the voices raised in these hours to express indignant condemnation, and I strongly reiterate that the ways of violence will never lead to genuine solutions to humanity’s problems.

Yesterday was a dark day in the history of humanity, a terrible affront to human dignity.

After receiving the news, I followed with intense concern the developing situation, with heartfelt prayers to the Lord.

How is it possible to commit acts of such savage cruelty? The human heart has depths from which schemes of unheard-of ferocity sometimes emerge, capable of destroying in a moment the normal daily life of a people.

But faith comes to our aid at these times when words seem to fail. Christ’s word is the only one that can give a response to the questions which trouble our spirit.

Even if the forces of darkness appear to prevail, those who believe in God know that evil and death do not have the final say. Christian hope is based on this truth; at this time our prayerful trust draws strength from it.

With deeply felt sympathy I address myself to the beloved people of  the United States in this moment of distress and consternation,  when the courage of so many men and women of good will is being  sorely tested.

In a special way I reach out to the families of the dead and the injured, and assure them of my spiritual closeness. I entrust to the mercy of the Most High the helpless victims of this tragedy, for whom I offered Mass this morning, invoking upon them eternal rest.

May God give courage to the survivors; may he sustain the rescue workers and the many volunteers who are presently making an enormous effort to cope with such an immense emergency.

I ask you, dear brothers and sisters, to join me in prayer for them. Let us beg the Lord that the spiral of hatred and violence will not prevail.

May the Blessed Virgin, Mother of Mercy, fill the hearts of all with wise thoughts and peaceful intentions.”

12 September 2001 Pope John Paul II

I have gotten a lot of very nice emails supporting our efforts to keep up with the WTC coins and I always enjoy reading them. So thank you all very much for that.

But we need support from people with population numbers with pictures of WTC coins not up on the page yet. So if you have any coins not up on these pages or any information about the WTC coins please send us an email.

Also I have made a section on this page that is made for finding your WTC coins on E-bay. I just found out today that there are some money connected to this page. I think E-Bay Pays WTC911COIN.COM  every time somebody looks at and buys WTC coins direct from the link on WTC911COINS.COM, E-Bay Auction site link here  WTC EBAY AUCTION

To be honest I am not quite sure what makes the money if its sign up to E-Bay or people buying WTC coin.

But anyway last month $25.96 was made in this way. So we need to find a charity for the WTC Victims or children of victims to give this money to every month as I expect this to happen every month. Now I am not sure what would be the best charity to give this money to so if anybody has any suggestions please email me.

Also if E-Bay wants to give us money for buying coins from this E-bay site link I hope more and more people will start to make their purchase thought the link on this site and thereby give money to a worthy WTC Victims Charity.

Just an update as we get close to the 7 Anniversary of 9/11

Up right now on E-bay is the full $1 Eagle set, I say its a full $1 silver eagle set but I do think that one coin is missing, not to take anything away from this set as its very nice. I think that there is a 1987 MS68 $1 silver eagle with a population of 400 coins. When I made this page WTC911COINS.com in the spring I do remember the coin and the population number as it is market on this site. But as a read has pointed out to me I have a picture up of a Gem Uncirculated coin. The reason for this is probably that I do not have a picture of the coin. So somebody please send me a picture of the 1987 MS68 WTC coin for me to prove that it is there. Back to the main topic very very nice full Eagle set up on E-Bay right now. Full Eagle set.

By the way here is the list of the coins for others that wants to collect the set. 12 Coins in All. The 1993 being the most rare with 120 in population.

Wow just had a real jerk who bought 2 WTC 2001 MS69 coins from me

Ebay ID:    51dwightdwight

Please be very careful if you want to buy or sell  WTC coins or any other coins to/from this Jerk.  If he bids on any of your auctions please be careful when sending him your coins.  Use this link to block bidders to your auctions E-bay link block bidder

So here is the story. 51dwightdwight writes me an asked if the two coins have any spots on them. I tell him just the normal dust that are found on these coins because that is all that I see. So the guy bids on the coins and wins. He pays and I send him the coins. I leave him positive feedback as soon as he has paid ( my mistake but I am an honest person) He receives the coins and tells me one of the coins has a spot on it. I offer him a 100% refund of his money including shipping if he will send it back to me. So here is where it starts to get nasty. The guy is a power seller on E-bay and feels like he can push people around. So he ask to get a similar coin from 2001 $1 MS 69 from my store that I am selling for $250, its a coin I recently bought from a dealer for $200. Now he starts demanding that I give him the $250 coin as a replacement for the $180 coin he won at the auction just because its a similar year 2001 MS69 coin that I have in my shop and that a refund is not good enough. As a seller on E-Bay he uses his right to leave negative feedback as a tool to push me to give him a coin he did not win at the auction. I just told him that he could do what he wanted to do and that a refund was all I could do for him. But what would you have done in the same situation ? Please let me know as I am sure other people has been scammed like this ? I also think that I am in my full right to tell the guy that a coin in my auction as I bought for a lower amount is different that a coin in my shop that I bought for a higher amount even though its the same coin same year same grade just different buying price. What do you guys think ?

Anyway just wanted to vent and make sure that nobody else get into the same situation with this guy as I just did.

wtc_1999_1997_G_Maple_Leaf

What do you guy thing about this coin, that was send to me by a WTC coin collector today, the coin in question is the $5 Gold Maple from Canada with "PCGS CERTIFIED" written on the flag and not the regular "Gem Uncirculated" there is one coin on E-Bay right now where the sell states that its an "WTC PCGS Error coin". It maybe, but I have no information about PCGS making this mistake on some of the coins. The WTC collector that send me the 3 coins pictured wrote me that she had personally seen 3 of these coins on E-Bay at different times. So if it is a true PCGS Error on the printing on the Flag then we know that 3 coin if not more are out there.

If anybody has any information about this "PCGS Certified" on the flag slab please let me know at jacob@wtc911coins.com and I will put the information out.

Thanks again to the WTC collector that send me the pictures of these 3 coins, and no matter the slab and text its still a very beautiful coin.

2001 $50 MS70

Year 2001
Material Gold 1 oz.
PCGS Certification MS 70
Population 3

I would say one of the best coins on E-bay right now, a 2001 $50 Gold MS70. I think its the 2nd time I see a 2001 1oz MS70 coin on E-bay first time was the full set of WTC 2001 MS70 all 4 coins. Its a great looking coin and I am sure the buyer of this coin will look at this historic WTC coin as a true steal at the current price. If you can find this coin on E-Bay look at all the WTC coins that are on there if you remember to search in E-Bay stores.

 WTC 0.10 oz 2000WTC 0.25 oz 2000WTC 0.5 oz 2000

If anybody has the missing coin 1oz. 2000 Krugerrand please contact me for Jaco’s E-mail

The 1oz Krugerrands in various dates are available on e-bay from time to time, it is however to every collectors frustration that there is no official population reports supplied by PCGS. This makes it very difficult to guess how many coins are available. Unfortunately I have not come across a year 2000 1oz Krugerrand coin -

The 1/2oz Krugerrands I have only seen with the date 2000, in all my searching the past 3 years I have only come across 6 of the coins, this makes it very difficult to complete a set. I can only guess how many there are available but these are by far the most difficult to find.

The 1/4oz Krugerrands I have also only seen with the date 2000, these are available more frequently and I think thatthey might have a population similar to the 1oz Krugerrands.

The 1/10oz Krugerrands I have only seen with the date 2000, these are also very hard to obtain and if I must take an educated guess I might have come across 10 of these coins.

Now you can see why I say it is a pity I have not come across a 2000 1oz Krugerrand coin.I think that we should try to petition PCGS to see if they do not have any records available - Surely there should have been some records kept either by the selvedge companies or they should have copies of the submission forms? What do you think?

I think that these coins have a very big part to play in history - It is something tangible that can remind you of the day the world changed forever.

Note to readers: If you have WTC coins and want to tell your story about the coins or something special you know about the coins please send me an email and I will get your pictures and story on here.

1 of 12

Well this just proves that nobody knows what coins and bars came from the World Trade Center. This 1 of 12 Credit Suisse 1 oz. Gold bar is a first for me. I have talked to a lot of people about these coins and never hear about the 1 of 12 series gold bars. I guess it is only 1 gold bar in this series or maybe there are more coins ? To be honest I don’t know but I will try and find out.

I know its been a while since my last post on here, but I have not really seen anything new out there except for this Gold bar.
