This 1912 English Gold Coin is the oldest coin I have personally seen come out of the World Trade Center Vault. It would be a coin that has survived 2 world wars and the world trade center coming down on top of it. It survived the 1933 gold melt down and the 1929 stock market crash.

Here a little history about the coin that made it all the way.

The first British gold sovereign was issued in 1489 for Henry VII, the modern gold sovereign commenced in 1817 under George III. The sovereign was a real circulating coin until the outbreak of the First World War in 1914. The production of gold sovereigns, as bullion coins, restarted in 1957. Britain’s last circulating sovereign issues were dated 1925 and 1932.
