The WTC 1961 Gem Unc $10 Pesos Silver coin "WAS" the least inexpensive of all WTC Recovered coin available for only about two years. Would you believe that this coin traded at about $20 dollars back in January of 2002 and you couldn't even get some collectors to touch them at that price! A mere "5,000" coins were actually recovered from Ground Zero in New York.
The Uruguay 1961 $10 Peso coin was minted by the Royal Mint in London for Uruguay. Its mintage was limited 3 million coins that have now vanished and can no longer be found. The coin has approximately 1/2 ounce of pure silver and has a diameter of 33 millimeters. It was minted to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the battle of 1811 and to honor the great sacrifices of the Uruguayan Gaucho "Cowboy" who played a major role in the battle against Spain
