The 2001 $1 Silver Eagle MS69 is a little more rare than the 2001 BU but its still a coin that can still be found on E-bay or other online auction places. The coin is very collectable as its the year of the 9-11 attacks. If I could only buy one coin and did not have the money for the gold coins this would be the coin I would buy. As a matter of a fact this was the first WTC recovery coin I ever bought. There is a section on this blog dedicated to the appreciation in value of this coin as its represents a part of the WTC recovery coins with the most appeal for people just wanting to have one coin from the vault.
A coin dealer was offering the following in 2004:
1/10 gold coin and a Liberty Silver dollar, both PCGS MS69, they had 198 sets of these available, and the coins are dated 2001. Price for both coins in 2004 $425.

The 9/11 charity coins, were used as a vehicle to give 100% donations to those families of the NYPD firefighters who were in immediate need of outside financial assistance. The charity coin and the generous donations a collective effort of the people from the Collectors Universe Forum. The charity auction that sold off the 100 coins raised over $42,000 to families of the NYPD firefighters.
The PCGS WTC 911 Firefighters New York State Quarter was the first coin to have the American flag slap on it. This coin was however not found at ground zero and was not like the rest of the coins slap with Ground Zero Recovery Coin. These 100 coins where used as 100% donations to the NYPD firefighters.

There is no question about it that this coin in MS68 has a very low population but if it is only 5 pieces like some people write on E-bay I am not sure about. As I write this there are 2 on E-bay for sale. I have been missing this coin in my collection of the WTC coins but now its up. People following close on this page will understand that I change dates on my postings to keep the order of the coins on the page.

Nice silver set with a nice presentation in a box, this set should not be to hard to put together but its a nice reminder of what happened at the world trade center. For the small collector this would be a great set to give to your grandchildren.

Just a beautiful set and I wish I owned it, but I don't. The key to this set is the WTC $25 Gold coin. So if you want this set you have to get the $25 gold coin from somewhere. Also you next question would be was there a WTC $50 gold coin found at the vault. The answer to that question is yes, but that coin is even more scares but its available for the right price. This set was in may 2008 up for auction on E-bay.

The 2001 $10 platinum Eagle MS68 a great looking coin, if you want to see the full 2001 platinum set it can be found in WTC Platinum Sets. This coin is probably very rare but until now I have not been able to get a population number on it. Just the fact that these coins survived the world trade center coming down on top of them is amazing.
