The Silver Eagle of the WTC Vault

As we all know there where found many different $1 silver eagles at the WTC, the correct number of different silver eagles are 21 different WTC silver eagles to collect, it was Tony from the UK I think that pointed that out to me in a comment on one of my post. So 21 different eagles from 6 different years. When I saw different eagles we would count that the year 2001, has a  10 different types. The Gem Uncirculated, MS 68, MS 69. and then we have the eagles in the numbered sets like 1 of 190 etc total of 7 different numbered sets with an 2001 eagle in them.

So to collect all the 21 different silver eagles out there, you would have to get silver eagles from broken up sets of coins and all the eagles from the regular years. I would say the 1 of 12 with the gold bar and the silver eagle is probably the hardest one to get as there are only 12 pieces of that coin.

E-Bay Buyers Be Aware !!

Wow just had a real jerk who bought 2 WTC 2001 MS69 coins from me

So here is the story. 51dwightdwight writes me an asked if the two coins have any spots on them. I tell him just the normal dust that are found on these coins because that is all that I see. So the guy bids on the coins and wins. He pays and I send him the coins. I leave him positive feedback as soon as he has paid ( my mistake but I am an honest person) He receives the coins and tells me one of the coins has a spot on it. I offer him a 100% refund of his money including shipping if he will send it back to me. So here is where it starts to get nasty. The guy is a power seller on E-bay and feels like he can push people around. So he ask to get a similar coin from 2001 $1 MS 69 from my store that I am selling for $250, its a coin I recently bought from a dealer for $200. Now he starts demanding that I give him the $250 coin as a replacement for the $180 coin he won at the auction just because its a similar year 2001 MS69 coin that I have in my shop and that a refund is not good enough. As a seller on E-Bay he uses his right to leave negative feedback as a tool to push me to give him a coin he did not win at the auction. I just told him that he could do what he wanted to do and that a refund was all I could do for him. But what would you have done in the same situation ? Please let me know as I am sure other people has been scammed like this ? I also think that I am in my full right to tell the guy that a coin in my auction as I bought for a lower amount is different that a coin in my shop that I bought for a higher amount even though its the same coin same year same grade just different buying price. What do you guys think ?

Anyway just wanted to vent and make sure that nobody else get into the same situation with this guy as I just did.

WTC 2001 $50 MS70

From Looking up the serial number on PCGS

The above chart is from PCGS showing the coin serial number when put into PCGS coin look up chart. As all the population numbers for the WTC is not know by me or by PCGS this is the best we can do.

I would say one of the best coins on E-bay right now, a 2001 $50 Gold MS70. I think its the 2nd time I see a 2001 1oz MS70 coin on E-bay first time was the full set of WTC 2001 MS70 all 4 coins. Its a great looking coin and I am sure the buyer of this coin will look at this historic WTC coin as a true steal at the current price. If you can find this coin on E-Bay look at all the WTC coins that are on there if you remember to search in E-Bay stores.

1991 $50 Platinum Leaf

This is the Canadian $50 Platinum Maple Leaf a 1 oz coin in Canada. What we know about platinum coins found at the world trade center is the following. Only year 2001 Platinum coins was found for the US coins and the only other platinum coins found where the Canadian Maple Leaf. So then the question is  are there any of the other denomination of the platinum coins found. Well I will sure put them up as I find out but this is the first platinum coin from Canada found in the WTC coins.

WTC 2001 Silver Eagle Uncirculated

The 2001 silver eagle BU PCGS certified coin was the most common coin found at the vault under the world trade center. It took months to retrieve the coins from the sub-basement where the vault with these coins where located. Some special WTC 2001 Coin to look for would be coins found to display heat marks making the coin black in spots. These coins are often referred as "end roll coins" because they where the last or first coin in a role and these coins would have absorbed most of the destructive power of the falling buildings and the fire that burned at the world trade center. WTC Set 1 of 150

We have been waiting for this set for a while but here it is the 1 of 150 WTC set. It is a 2001 Silver eagle and a 2001 $25 gold eagle. All 150 sets are made up of these two coins.

WTC 1 of 269 5 Coin Set

So the 1 of 269 was original a set of 5 coins the WTC $1 silver eagle, $5,$10,$25,$50 gold all coins in this set is from 2001.

This one set was up for auction in 2007 and all coins where sold individually.

WTC 1 of 531 4 Coin Set

Missing $50 Gold

So the 1 of 531 WTC coin set was a 4 coin set all from 2001 it consisted of the $1 silver eagle, the $5,$10,$25, Gold eagle all WTC recovery coins. Many of these sets has been broken up and sold but there are still some complete sets around.

The WTC 1 of 426 Set

Now we have the complete detail of each set in the 1 of 426 WTC Ground Zero Recovery Set. This set consisted of $1 Silver Eagle 2001 certified Gem Uncirculated and 1 Credit Swiss Gold bar. All the sets came like this and many of the sets has been broken up but this was the original set.

190 Series is a 6 coin set

So new information comes to me every day now and here is something that I did not know. The 190 series is a 6 coin set, total coins in the set is not 190 coins but 1,140 coins.

The 6 coins in this set are the 2001 $1 silver,$5,$10,$25,$50 gold, $100 Platinum. Most sets have been split up but the original set that came out from the world trade center was these 6 coins in 1 of 190

I will correct the information other place in this website to make the corrections.

The WTC 1 of 1000 Set

This is an interesting set all 1000 sets are made up of one WTC silver eagle year 2001 MS69 and one $5 Gold eagle 1999 MS 69. There where 1000 sets sold like this at the start of the recovered coins from WTC how many sets like this that is left is anybodies guess.

Now this is interesting we now know that the individual that had 426 items at his box at the world trade center at least 3 of the pieces where 1 oz Suisse gold bars. The is a picture of $1 silver dollar also part of the series 1 of 426. The gold bar found under the world trade center is now world famous for having survived the cash of the world trade center buildings. Finding this gold bar under all that cement and concrete is still amazing to me.

Each gold bar has a serial number from Credit Suisse and this is how these gold bars from the world trade center can be tracked. As no records has been made public by PCGS.

Serial number on this one is 174741 what a gold bar I would love to have one of these again

2001 $25 MS69

I wish I had this coin would go great with my set of 2001 that I am trying to put together. Look at the discoloring of the coin, great picture of this coin.

The final coin in the 1 of 269 series set for the 2001 gold coins found at the world trade center this coin was at auction in May 2007 and sold for $2,070.00

2001 $25 1 of 269 WTC

2001 $25 Gold Eagle found at the vault of the world trade center and graded by PCGS or Collectors Universe. This coin was part of a series that is 1 of 269. Sold at auction for $1,955.00 back in May 2007

2001 $10 1 of 269

Here is the $10 Gold eagle from the series 1 of 269. As all the coins are on this page this series are possible, this coin sold at auction in $1,495.00 in May 2007

2001 $1 Eagle 1 of 426

First one up of the series 1 of 426 this coin was sold back in October 2007 for $184.00, I will look for more coins from this series and put them up as I find them.

2001 $100 Platinum 1 of 190

I am not sure if the Platinum series in 1 of 190 can be made also I have not seen all the coins yet, but its possible, great looking coin.

WTC 1 of 521 Set Gold

This is a nice set that somebody collected out of the 1 of 521 series, just missing the $50 Gold 1 of 521 if there where on in the series I don't know that. Very nice collection that must have taken a long time to put together.

$50 Gold Eagle 2001

The 2001 Gold Eagle the made it out from Ground Zero of the World Trade Center, beautiful coin in a great patriotic picture. This coins is something else.
