I once though that getting hold of a WTC gold bar 1 of 426 was going to be really hard, as no one was ever up for sale, this week there are 3 different wtc gold bars 1 of 426 up for sale on Ebay. They have always demanded a heavy premium but at $1600 with gold being right around $1300 people are selling them off cheap. When I sold my last gold bar on ebay I got $1600 for it with gold at $1100 so a premium of only $300 over spot gold prices is a really good price to me.
1 oz gold bar WTC

On another note I have put the final touches on the WTC book today and I hope to present it to the world this time next week maybe sooner. Just missing some images in there and it will be all done. The book is everything about the WTC coins you would ever want to know. Sitting at around 50 pages there are nothing left out in this book of what is know about the world trade center coins, it has taken me almost a month to complete it but I was thinking that it need to be done before things where forgotten. I can't wait to share it with everybody and I hope that you all will like it.
Last week there where so pretty cool WTC Coins up for sale on ebay, its was a whole collection of 6 coins all with heat or burn damage to them. The coins was from the WTC Vault and had clear evidence of the extrem heat the coins in the vault was facing after the towers fell.

WTC coins Heat Damaged
I am sure the phone in the auction does not do the coin justice but it was I think a sucessful action and the coins are now sold to a new owner. It just another way of collecting the WTC coins, each has his own way I guess to collect.

Just in time for the 9th Anniversary of the 911 devastating attack on the World Trade Center in New York, comes the coin up for sale, that has been eluded us all for so long. The 1 oz 1998 1 oz Philharmonic 1 of 140, I wish it was not out of my price range but it is. I would love to have that coin for my collection as it is truly the center piece of any WTC collection, but its just to much money for me. I would trade this website for that coin that is how much I want it. But I think I will have to wait for a better time to go after a jewel like this.
WTC 1998 1 oz Philharmonic

WTC 1998 1 oz philharmonic Most Elusive WTC Coin
There are so many stories about this coin, and how many of the 140 coins are still in the country. Its hard to know what story is true, but I have hear the following and I am taking no blame if the story is not true but it was told to me by a reliable source. There are 2 of these coins still in USA, the rest has been bough by the Austrian government and melted down as they did not like their coins to be associated with the 911 recovery coins. One would ask if this was the truth why would the small coin the 200 Sch. not be in the same boat, and we know those coins are around. I don't know the answer to that question but I do know that this is the first time in 4 years I have ever seen a wtc 1998 1 oz philharmonic 1 of 140 for sale on ebay.
You can check out the auction here.
So what will the coin go for ? I am not sure but I have already bid the coin to a level where I could not be in it anymore. Maybe 6k maybe 10k I am not sure but we will find out in 7 days.
A lot more South African coins than featured on this website, it looks like the WTC coins from South Africa include the 1 oz krugerrand from 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984
These coins have not been featured on this website before

1983 1 oz Krugerrand

The 1983 1 oz kruggerand wtc
It does not happen often that I find a coin from the world trade center vault that is not in my collection but today there was one. This 1983 1 oz Krugerrand was not in the collection on this website. Again as with many of the other coins I just know that it has been certified PCGS Ground Zero Recovery coin. But how many are out there of this 1983 gold coins is not certain. The seller on ebay is having at a Buy it now for $1500 but remember with the Krugerrand coins they are not .999 like the US eagles and gold coins they are .917 but still its now a historic coin and its for sale if anybody are out there collecting the South African WTC coins. Finding the whole set 1983 1 oz gold being one of them
How many gold kruggerands where there under the world trade center? how many different years, this is the 1983 1 oz gold coin but where there other coins still not seen here on the wtc911coin.com or other places. I will keep looking at Ebay for answers. The 1983 1 oz gold coin what a beauty

A reader of this website send me this coin for the world to see, as you can see clearly on the back and the front the coin is bent by the heat that it has been exposed to. The line or shadow of the bending area is quite clear in the photo's. PCGS is not supposed to slab damaged coins, but as you see in the picture there are exceptions to that rule.
Very nice coin and more and more collectors of wtc coins are looking for coins that has been marked by the event of 9-11-2001

1 oz gold bar
I normally don't do this but here are one of my auctions for a 1 oz gold bar with no reserve, I just need the money so I am selling it now.

So this to me is a new coin in the WTC coin collection, its the 1 of 12 2001 silver eagle.

A very special WTC Ground Zero Recovery find!
On November 11, 2001 two months after the disaster, this 2001 American Silver Eagle was among those found within the vault. They were taken away by Brinks to a storage facility and subsequently graded by PCGS. There are only 12 of these in existence. This is the most rare silver eagle from a limited grouping of all WTC silver eagles.
This coin is part of a two piece set which was comprised of this coin along with a one ounce Credit Suisse Gold Ingot also marked "1 of 12". Being a "1 of 12" set, obviously there are only 12 that exist slabbed and certified by PCGS. Of the 12 sets that existed, 9 of those 12 sets were owned by one person who's secretary accidentally shipped the 1 of 12 Silver Eagles out as normal 2001 Silver Gem Unc Eagles. Who knows if or when the others will ever surface as they are probably tucked away just as that ..... normal silver 2001 Gem Unc Eagles. We only have one and what a find this coin is! Link to Auction
Absolutely incredible coin!

This is without a doubt the most desirable coin of all American Eagles that were recovered from the Iron Mountain Vault beneath the World Trade Center. On November 11, 2001 two months after the disaster, this $25 American Gold Eagle was among those found within the vault. They were taken away by Brinks to a storage facility and subsequently graded by PCGS. To imagine that there were some that were able to obtain the coveted PCGS grade of MS70 after the events of that fateful day is simply amazing.
There are only 2 of these 2001 $25s in MS70 known to be in existence, and the other one are closely held by the originator and is not for sale. This will be your only chance to own one, and what an acquisition it would be. A collector's dream.

This is a nice collection of 2001 MS69 WTC coins, you would only need the $50 gold coin for a very nice MS69 set of WTC coins. The WTC 2001 $50 gold coin would probably set you back another $5000-$6000 but still.

This set of 4 coins are up on Ebay for $3,950 and I think its a good price. Auction link
For anybody that does not have a $5 2001 MS69 WTC in their collection there is one on Ebay right now at a great price.

This hard to find 2001 WTC coins is up for sale now with a buy it now price of $590, normally you don't find the 2001 MS69 below $900 so it sounds like a great deal.
Here is the link to the auction Action link

Yeah that is what I though when I read it from a person selling WTC coins on Ebay.
"Experienced collectors know that the population of this coin was reduced when hurricane IKE devastated Texas. Hundreds to thousands of WTC coins were lost at sea in the hurricane. Right now no one know what the actual population of this coin is but the population has to be less after the hurricane."
It could be that I just don't know about this but please if anybody has the story would somebody send it to me. I am not saying its not true I am just saying I never did hear that story.
Now if you look at the coin in the picture I do love the discoloration going on in the coin, I hope that is what the coin looks like and not just the photo taken. To me the most exciting WTC coins are the once that have marks on them from the WTC not just plain coins in WTC holders.
Anyway I hope to hear the Hurricane Ike Story if anybody got it.
I like this set very much and I wanted you all to see it, price is not bad to as its 5oz of gold in these 5 coins. But the collector that is selling the set has collected countries and not just years and I like that.

The coins are from Canada, USA, Austria, Australia and South Africa very nice.
So again we are having a influx of Platinum coins going on the Ebay auction block right now and the deals are really great. This coin is in Auction on a No Reserve basis. That means high bid wins no matter what the price. So just to give you guys some history the last $100 Platinum that got sold was a MS69 and it sold for $7,500, this coin in the picture is the 1 of 190 $100 platinum coin and I would not expect it to reach $7,500 but you never know.
