WTC $50 Mexico Gold Coin 1 of 34

A very nice guy send me a picture of the WTC Mexican gold coin from 1945, what a beauty. This coin was found in 34 pieces and because part of the 1 of 34 series. Why somebody would have 34 Mexican gold coins in a vault under the World Trade Center is always the million dollar question but now its part of the WTC coins history a story that becomes better and better every day. I have about 3 new coins never before seen on this website to add to the site. Again on the Mexico coins if any of the other 34 coin owners out there would write me a note I have something special to share with you guys on this coin.

WTC 1987-W $50 PR62DCAM

Again from the same friend here is another PCGS Proof coin making it out of the World Trade Center Vault. This coin is the 1987 $50 gold 1 oz coin certified as PR62DCAM, with beautiful luster and mirror finish. A note from my friend says that there is only 1 coin in existence of the Pr62DCAM certified PCGS WTC recovery.

The strangest WTC coin story

The story of the silver 10 Peso from Uruguay, why did somebody have 5,000 of these coins in the vault under the World Trade Center, its from 1961 and its silver, but the coins are Uncirculated so maybe somebody though it was a good investment in silver coins at the time and bough a whole lot of them I am not sure. But the story is that these coins where some of the first coins to be graded by Collectors Universe and that there where 5,000 coins of this 10 Peso silver coin from 1961.

Lots of WTC Gold Bar for sale

I once though that getting hold of a WTC gold bar 1 of 426 was going to be really hard, as no one was ever up for sale, this week there are 3 different wtc gold bars 1 of 426 up for sale on Ebay. They have always demanded a heavy premium but at $1600 with gold being right around $1300 people are selling them off cheap. When I sold my last gold bar on ebay I got $1600 for it with gold at $1100 so a premium of only $300 over spot gold prices is a really good price to me.

On another note I have put the final touches on the WTC book today and I hope to present it to the world this time next week maybe sooner. Just missing some images in there and it will be all done. The book is everything about the WTC coins you would ever want to know. Sitting at around 50 pages there are nothing left out in this book of what is know about the world trade center coins, it has taken me almost a month to complete it but I was thinking that it need to be done before things where forgotten. I can't wait to share it with everybody and I hope that you all will like it.

WTC coins with heat/burn damage

Last week there where so pretty cool WTC  Coins up for sale on ebay, its was a whole collection of  6 coins all with heat or burn damage to them. The coins was from the WTC Vault and had clear evidence of the extrem heat the coins in the vault was facing after the towers fell.

I am sure the phone in the auction does not do the coin justice but it was I think a sucessful action and the coins are now sold to a new owner. It just another way of collecting the WTC coins, each has his own way I guess to collect.

WTC 1998 1 oz philharmonic

Just in time for the 9th Anniversary of the 911 devastating attack on the World Trade Center in New York, comes the coin up for sale, that has been eluded us all for so long. The 1 oz 1998 1 oz Philharmonic 1 of 140, I wish it was not out of my price range but it is. I would love to have that coin for my collection as it is truly the center piece of any WTC collection, but its just to much money for me. I would trade this website for that coin that is how much I want it. But I think I will have to wait for a better time to go after a jewel like this.

WTC 1998 1 oz philharmonic  Most Elusive WTC Coin

There are so many stories about this coin,  and how many of the 140 coins are still in the country. Its hard to know what story is true, but I have hear the following and I am taking no blame if the story is not true but it was told to me by a reliable source. There are 2 of these coins still in USA, the rest has been bough by the Austrian government and melted down as they did not like their coins to be associated with the 911 recovery coins. One would ask if this was the truth why would the small coin the 200 Sch. not be in the same boat, and we know those coins are around. I don't know the answer to that question but I do know that this is the first time in 4 years I have ever seen a wtc 1998 1 oz philharmonic 1 of 140 for sale on ebay.

So what will the coin go for ? I am not sure but I have already bid the coin to a level where I could not be in it anymore. Maybe 6k maybe 10k I am not sure but we will find out in 7 days.

It does not happen often that I find a coin from the world trade center vault that is not in my collection but today there was one. This 1983 1 oz Krugerrand was not in the collection on this website. Again as with many of the other coins I just know that it has been certified PCGS Ground Zero Recovery coin. But how many are out there of this 1983 gold coins is not certain. The seller on ebay is having at a Buy it now for $1500 but remember with the Krugerrand coins they are not .999 like the US eagles and gold coins they are .917 but still its now a historic coin and its for sale if anybody are out there collecting the South African WTC coins. MS70 $25 Gold Coin Up on Ebay 2 Known Only | MS70 $25

Absolutely incredible coin!

This is without a doubt the most desirable coin of all American Eagles that were recovered from the Iron Mountain Vault beneath the World Trade Center. On November 11, 2001 two months after the disaster, this $25 American Gold Eagle was among those found within the vault. They were taken away by Brinks to a storage facility and subsequently graded by PCGS. To imagine that there were some that were able to obtain the coveted PCGS grade of MS70 after the events of that fateful day is simply amazing.

There are only 2 of these 2001 $25s in MS70 known to be in existence, and the other one are closely held by the originator and is not for sale. This will be your only chance to own one, and what an acquisition it would be. A collector's dream.

I have bought one myself this 10 Troy oz. of silver bar with the Manhatten skyline and the world trade center towers on it. I bough my 10 oz bar when silver was at $16 and oz now its down below $11 and the 10 oz silver bars are much more affordable. Question About WTC Coins Certified By PCGS

For some reason I am getting a lot of questions right now about the coins found at the World Trade Center and certified by PCGS. The questions are all along the lines of "How do I know that these coins where really in a vault under the WTC ?" Well there are only one company that knows that for certain and the is PCGS they are the one that certified the coins and slab them with the American Flag insert. Best Christmas Gift 2008

I was thinking that one of the best Christmas gifts for 2008 would be a silver coin from 2001 found at Ground Zero in New York. Shuttle Launch Tonight NASA

Friday launch from NASA's Kennedy Space Center has been set to go and the space shuttle will launch tonight around 19.000 Local East Coast Time. I just visited the area Tuesday of this week and people where starting to come in for the Shuttle launch. $10 Gold Eagle WTC

It seams to me that the $10 and the $25 gold eagles from the world trade center ground zero are the hardest to find to complete a series. The 1 oz gold eagle are most often there and the 1/10 oz gold eagle is there but the 1/4 and the 1/2 oz seams harder to find. I was thinking about the reason for that. I can understand people investing in gold coins would put a $50 gold coin in their vault under the world trade center. But why would they put $5 gold coins over $10 or $25 gold coins ? I am not sure what the reason are but I will try and list all $10 and $25 gold eagles for sale on E-bay for people looking for one of these coins

Why Is Gold Falling In Price

I bought gold about 4 years ago as in my economical teachings I had always learn if the world are in a crises people will start buy gold as a safe investment. Well looking at the last month of turbulent markets all over the world gold has only gone one way and that has been down. So I wanted to find out what was different this time compared to what the books are telling us would happen when the market goes down. He Mr. Adam Nash is telling us that people are selling gold to meet margin calls on other investments they have so they have to sell gold. To me that sounds like a reasonable explanation considering the fast collapse of the US and world markets. But does it not also mean that if a hedge fund or mutual fund sells gold to meet market calls that they have to at sometime buy that gold back to keep their risk profile the same as they have advertised to consumers. I think it does and I think it means that the gold will go back up when the markets starts to stabilize again as the people selling gold now really have to sell but they don't want to sell. So they will buy back as their portfolio gets back in the black.

Well its funny to see how the WTC coins and bullion are not affected by the gold and silver price as 1oz. gold coins still sell for a minimum of $1,200 -1,400 and silver coins sell for a minimum of $70 with 1 oz of silver at $10. This makes WTC coins a much safer investment that regular bullion coins which I guess a few people have found out given the recent activity on E-bay. Right now over 150 world trade center coins are up for auction where a normal number in the last 6 month has been around 100 coins.

Just came across this picture on the web, a great looking set with 4 WTC $5 gold coins and a $1 silver eagle, looks great in the show case box. Well look closer its the 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 WTC $5 Gold Coins and a 2001 $1 WTC Silver eagle looks great and I think the 2000 WTC $5 gold coins is very very scares with only 17 coins believed to have been found at ground zero. Looking at it now its a wow is it not ?
