WTC Ground Zero PCGS Certified Coins

Coin value is always what somebody wants to pay for a coin there can be no other definition to this. To determine the coin value for these WTC coins there are a few things that needs to be remembered. Coin value is a combination of coin population, price of the metal, coin grade and finally the history of the coin. Just look at E-bay that will give you a  good idea of coin value to the WTC coins. So let have a look at this coin the WTC 1999 $50 Gold Eagle what would be the value of this coin. Well by having a look around on this page the population of this coin is thought to be around 144 coins total in the MS69 grade. The coin can be found on E-bay for around $1,300 to $1,800 which is much more than a regular MS69 1 oz eagle grade by PCGS. Coin value here is a historical value and a population value as are the case with most WTC coins.

We have been waiting for this set for a while but here it is the 1 of 150 WTC set. It is a 2001 Silver eagle and a 2001 $25 gold eagle. All 150 sets are made up of these two coins.

Missing $50 Gold

So the 1 of 531 WTC coin set was a 4 coin set all from 2001 it consisted of the $1 silver eagle, the $5,$10,$25, Gold eagle all WTC recovery coins. Many of these sets has been broken up and sold but there are still some complete sets around.

This is an interesting set all 1000 sets are made up of one WTC silver eagle year 2001 MS69 and one $5 Gold eagle 1999 MS 69. There where 1000 sets sold like this at the start of the recovered coins from WTC how many sets like this that is left is anybodies guess.

2001 $25 Gold Eagle found at the vault of the world trade center and graded by PCGS or Collectors Universe. This coin was part of a series that is 1 of 269. Sold at auction for $1,955.00 back in May 2007

The 2001 Gold Eagle the made it out from Ground Zero of the World Trade Center, beautiful coin in a great patriotic picture. This coins is something else.

WTC 2001 Gold Eagle

Here is the $10 Gold Eagle from year 2000, this coin looks to have the reddish surface that is so common for the WTC coins. People tell me its from the intense heat the coins suffered before they where removed from the vault.

Wow this set is the 1 of 900 coins set, its a 1 coin set where all coins are the 1998 $50 gold eagle Gem Uncirculated. All coins are marked 1 of 900 coins.

Here is the 2001 $5 Gold Eagle from the series 1 of 269. This coin was from a single collector that had 269 coins graded by PCGS when the coins came back from the world trade center to be graded.

The 1999 $10 Gold Eagle with only 4 coins recovered from the vault under the World Trade Center is a very scares coin to say the least. Probably the coin with the smallest population of all the coins recovered from the vault. The coins has been see on E-bay where the full set was for sale WTC 1999 MS69 $50, $25, $10, $10-W & $5 Gold Eagle Set. The set was for sale in May 2008 for $135,000 with only 4 set ever possible the set has incredible historical value for the events of 9-11-2001.

The 1999 $25 gold coin was found in the WTC vault and certified by PCGS as WTC Ground Zero Recovery coin. I don't see a lot of the 1999 $25 gold eagle on E-bay so I would guess the population to less than 200 but I have no real information yet on this coin and its population. A coin I do not see so often the 1999 $25 Gold Eagle. This coin is certified MS69 and it looks great coming out of the vault. Great looking coin.

The $50 Gold Eagle MS69 1999 is one of the coins that you can still get hold of for your collection.  The coins is also 1 oz of pure gold that all ads to the value of this coin. The real value that I think you will see in this coin is when people start to retire there collection and the "day-trading of these coins stops. Great looking coin in BU condition the 1999 $50 gold is very scares in MS69 but nobody really knows what the population in uncirculated BU condition. The coins when they first came to PCGS for certification as WTC recovered coins all coins where certified the same as uncirculated BU coins it was not until later in the process that PCGS started giving the coins a grade like they would normally do with a coin that got a certification. The 1998 $50 Gold Eagle 1 oz. of pure gold surviving the world trade center collapse and still being in PCGS MS69 condition its just incredible. I would love to know the population of this coin.
