Best WTC Coins Right Now On Ebay

If I had the money right now I would buy the WTC 1994 set on Ebay, Its the 1994 MS67, 1994 MS68 and 1994 MS69 all together in one set from one seller. Its very nice set of coins and I would go after it if I had the money. They are all very low population coins, I think 15, 17 and 20 something like that of each grade. Its a nice little collection of the 1994 WTC 1 oz gold coin.

WTC-1992 Austrian Sch.

Again a brand new coin was found in the weeks of the 10 anniversary of the WTC attacks. This time its more of a mistake by the PCCG but still its a new WTC coin with only 1 coin in exsistence. It was on ebay for a short while but was then sold for $2,195.99 where a normal 1999 Sch. goes for around $800.

This price I think is justfied by the fact that only 1 mistake like this has been found in the 200 Austrian Sch. Even on the part of the flag the coin says 1999, but when you turn the coin around you will see the date 1992.

It would be a good idea for everybody that are reading this to check your WTC coins for years and labeling there might be more coins like this out there.

This is a new coins that was up on Ebay around 9/11/2011, the coin is a 1909 British Sovereign. I have never seen the coin before on Ebay so I don't think very many of these coins exists. WTC $5 2001 MS70 Open Auction

Have you ever wondered what a WTC $5 2001 MS70 gold eagle was really worth here at the WTC 10 year anniversary ? Well there is an auction going on right now on Ebay that will give us all the answer to that question in a few short days.

This coins is PCGS MS70 so the best grade there is after being rescue from the ruins of the WTC, that is pretty amazing stuff. I will follow the auction and who know maybe even bid on it myself. There is another MS70 2001 WTC coins on Ebay with a buy it now price tag of $4,650

If it will go all the way to that price point I am not sure, I am not even sure how many MS70 $5 gold WTC coins are out there but I know in the last 4 years I have only seen 2 on ebay come up for auction.

Looking At WTC Gold Coins

The fast rising gold prices have cut down on the supply of WTC gold coins on Ebay, even this new bullion center where investors in gold coins and bullion now have a fast and easy buying opportunity to buy gold have helped cut down the supply of WTC gold coins.

So what are WTC collectors to do when the supply of our favorite coins are no longer in the market ? Well there are other places that has WTC gold coins. But its not as easy as Ebay to buy at these places. Even at the 10th anniversary of the WTC attack one would think that all WTC coin sellers would come out and show their stuff. I have not seen it yet. I think right now there are no more than four (4) $50 WTC gold coins for sale at ebay. I have listed them below.

What Is Interesting About This WTC Coin

So I was looking over the current auctions of WTC coins on Ebay I guess I can now call it a hobby of mine as I do it often. Well I see this 1999 WTC $50 gold eagle at a crazy price of $6,000 and I am thinking what is this. Well this guy does not know what he has, and he thinks his $1,600 coin is worth $6,000. As he tells people in the description that its a very rare coin in the WTC coin collection. Anybody that follow Ebay auctions for these coins will know its probably one of the most auction off coins in the $50 WTC coins. I would think that 150 - 500 coins are out there in the grade MS69.

Any way I have a quick laugh about his description and I have a look at his pictures.

Great pictures by the way, if you need to click on the picture to see it in full size you will see the finger print left on the coin in the top right of the coin. Now I can't say that its on the coin, or if its on the holder. But if its on the coin it self it would be what I would highlight if I was selling this coin on Ebay. If he has a finger print of a worker that helped get the coins out of the WTC I would say that some collectors (me included) would think that is pretty cool to have in my collection.

1991 WTC $50 Gold Eagle

Its been really slow lately with the WTC coins and what has been up for sale on ebay. I did add a Austrian Gold Philharmonic 200 Sch to my collection only because I know I cannot get the the 1 oz Austrian Gold Philharmonic I guess I have to take the 1/10 of an once. Anyway anybody sitting on the 1 oz coin send me an email and lets talk.

I am also looking at the 1991 WTC $50 Gold Eagle that are up on ebay right now on Auction No Reserve that does not happen often and I would like to see if the price on this coin is good enough to buy it.

Interesting WTC Coins

So this week I really found some interesting WTC coins up for sales on Ebay, these coins are different and from different sellers but they are both at no reserve auctions my favorite auction form as you know somebody will get the great WTC coins at a market price.

So the first coin set I want to show you guys are the 1 of 1000 coin series, I have seen it may times on Ebay around the $1,000 level but maybe in a no reserve auction the prices will be a little better and somebody can get a deal on this set.

The other very interesting No reserve auction I see this week on Ebay are the following mistake label from PCGS, at most I would say its fun to have both different 1991 labels of the $1 silver eagle from the WTC, but that is for the very dedicated collector. The other thing is the 1991 wtc silver eagle that is not found that often to begin with. So for that reason its a fun auction up at no reserve.

Putting together the 1 of 190 WTC set

So as always I look around Ebay to see what is available of the WTC coins and today, I can see something that might interest lots of people. The 1 of 190 set, the first set of 2001 coins put together by PCGS can be pieced together from different auction this week.

I have put below all the different auctions that you need to visit to put this set together but that is what us collectors do we collect and enjoy it.

So lets start with the big dog, the WTC $100 platinum coin.

WTC E-Book Section Review

Here is a basic timeline of the discovery and retrieval of the WTC Coins

Oct. 30, 2001: News reports confirm that “a small army of federal agents” stood guard as two Brinks armored trucks worth of gold from underneath Tower #5 of the World Trade Center. In order to reach the cache, workers had to get around a 10 wheeled truck and crushed cars.

Oct 31, 2001: Mayor Rudy Giuliani confirms that much of the lost treasure under 4 World Trade Center has been recovered.

Nov 1, 2001: Iron Mountain Vault that is directly under Tower 4 of the WTC is finally reached, with the coins therein transferred via Brinks armored trucks to storage facilities.

November-December, 2001: The coins are slowly recovered, and eventually sent to Collectors Universe, which is not a grading company itself. CU lists the coins as “Gem Uncirculated”.

Dec. 1, 2001 – June 2002: PCGS starts grading and cataloguing the recovered coins.

While the history of the recovered World Trade Center coins has been surrounded by debate and controversy, it is notable that Collector’s Universe raised some $42,000 for members of the NYFD and their families via the Uniformed Fire Fighters Association Widows and Children's Fund through the sale of some of the coins.

The strangest WTC coin story

The story of the silver 10 Peso from Uruguay, why did somebody have 5,000 of these coins in the vault under the World Trade Center, its from 1961 and its silver, but the coins are Uncirculated so maybe somebody though it was a good investment in silver coins at the time and bough a whole lot of them I am not sure. But the story is that these coins where some of the first coins to be graded by Collectors Universe and that there where 5,000 coins of this 10 Peso silver coin from 1961.

Wow my post today was going to be about the 1 of 269 set that I posted earlier but then I came across this to cheap set, 1 of 1000 at buy it now $699, I have never seen it that cheap before on ebay. Somebody are going to get a great deal on this set.

It might be gone when you read this but still nice to see that there are still bargains to be had.

Lots of WTC Gold Bar for sale

I once though that getting hold of a WTC gold bar 1 of 426 was going to be really hard, as no one was ever up for sale, this week there are 3 different wtc gold bars 1 of 426 up for sale on Ebay. They have always demanded a heavy premium but at $1600 with gold being right around $1300 people are selling them off cheap. When I sold my last gold bar on ebay I got $1600 for it with gold at $1100 so a premium of only $300 over spot gold prices is a really good price to me.

On another note I have put the final touches on the WTC book today and I hope to present it to the world this time next week maybe sooner. Just missing some images in there and it will be all done. The book is everything about the WTC coins you would ever want to know. Sitting at around 50 pages there are nothing left out in this book of what is know about the world trade center coins, it has taken me almost a month to complete it but I was thinking that it need to be done before things where forgotten. I can't wait to share it with everybody and I hope that you all will like it.

WTC coins with heat/burn damage

Last week there where so pretty cool WTC  Coins up for sale on ebay, its was a whole collection of  6 coins all with heat or burn damage to them. The coins was from the WTC Vault and had clear evidence of the extrem heat the coins in the vault was facing after the towers fell.

I am sure the phone in the auction does not do the coin justice but it was I think a sucessful action and the coins are now sold to a new owner. It just another way of collecting the WTC coins, each has his own way I guess to collect.

1915 WTC RECOVERY AUSTRIAN 100 CORONA

One of my favorite coins that I don't yet own, is this 1915 WTC recovery Austrian 100 corona coin found at the WTC site. This coin has been seen on ebay a few times but still love it and the way it looks in the PCGS slab.

Its one of those coins that are really old and you just know that not many was in that vault when the towers came down. It reminds me of another coin that I really like from the WTC vault and that is the  1912 English Gold Coin found at the vault. I have not seen any of them up for sale in a long time but its out there.

WTC 1998 1 oz philharmonic

Just in time for the 9th Anniversary of the 911 devastating attack on the World Trade Center in New York, comes the coin up for sale, that has been eluded us all for so long. The 1 oz 1998 1 oz Philharmonic 1 of 140, I wish it was not out of my price range but it is. I would love to have that coin for my collection as it is truly the center piece of any WTC collection, but its just to much money for me. I would trade this website for that coin that is how much I want it. But I think I will have to wait for a better time to go after a jewel like this.

WTC 1998 1 oz philharmonic  Most Elusive WTC Coin

There are so many stories about this coin,  and how many of the 140 coins are still in the country. Its hard to know what story is true, but I have hear the following and I am taking no blame if the story is not true but it was told to me by a reliable source. There are 2 of these coins still in USA, the rest has been bough by the Austrian government and melted down as they did not like their coins to be associated with the 911 recovery coins. One would ask if this was the truth why would the small coin the 200 Sch. not be in the same boat, and we know those coins are around. I don't know the answer to that question but I do know that this is the first time in 4 years I have ever seen a wtc 1998 1 oz philharmonic 1 of 140 for sale on ebay.

So what will the coin go for ? I am not sure but I have already bid the coin to a level where I could not be in it anymore. Maybe 6k maybe 10k I am not sure but we will find out in 7 days.

It does not happen often that I find a coin from the world trade center vault that is not in my collection but today there was one. This 1983 1 oz Krugerrand was not in the collection on this website. Again as with many of the other coins I just know that it has been certified PCGS Ground Zero Recovery coin. But how many are out there of this 1983 gold coins is not certain. The seller on ebay is having at a Buy it now for $1500 but remember with the Krugerrand coins they are not .999 like the US eagles and gold coins they are .917 but still its now a historic coin and its for sale if anybody are out there collecting the South African WTC coins.
